What is hot foil printing?
Hot foil printing is the process of using heat and pressure to transfer coloured foil onto a variety of materials and items.
What can be hot foil printed?
Many materials can be hot foil printed, including paper, card, glass, plastic, wood, and metal. At cableties-online, we use hot foil printing when we manufacture our pre-printed and custom-printed nylon 6/6 cable ties.
The hot foil printing process
For custom-printed cable ties, a metal stamp, or die, is created with the desired text. This is heated and applied to the foil which then transfers the text onto the cable tie.

Pre-printed cable ties from cableties-online
We supply three different varieties of printed cable ties – phase marking cable ties, utility cable ties, and printed high vibration warning cable ties.
Phase marking cable ties are used by electricians in cable differentiation and identification. They are printed in industry-approved colours with industry-recognised notation.
Utility cable ties are available as blue cable ties printed with ‘Water’, or yellow cable ties printed with ‘Gas’.
Printed high vibration warning cable ties play an important part in preventing HAVS in the workplace. They help to reduce exposure to hand and arm vibration and are available in red, orange, and green in line with HSE regulations.

We hot foil print in either black or white, using the colour which provides the best contrast with the colour of the cable tie being printed.
