What is an extra long cable tie?

The longest length is 1030mm for the UV and heat stabilised cable tie. However, when we look at our standard nylon zip ties, we can really understand the term extra-long! The longest length of nylon cable tie we supply is a whopping 1530mm (just over 60 inches!)
The tensile strength of extra long cable ties
We have previously discussed why tensile strength is important when buying cable ties so just how strong is an extra long cable tie? Let’s take the longest and widest nylon cable tie we supply, which measures 1530mm long and 12.7mm wide. More than strong enough for the most heavy-duty of applications.

In addition to their remarkable tensile strength, extra long nylon 6/6 cable ties offer durability, ductility (being pliable and flexible without losing strength or breaking), and heat resistance. Meeting flammability rating UL94V-2 and with a working temperature of minus 40°C to 85°C (minus 40°F to 185°F), extra long cable ties are versatile and ideally suited to situations requiring strength in the face of extreme temperatures.
Applications for extra long cable ties
Extra long cable ties can be seen in use across a wide variety of industries. In construction, they are used to bundle reinforcing bars (rebar) together, and to secure tarpaulins and other covers. In telecommunications, too, they are indispensable in the management of large bundles of cabling and wires. In the heating sector, HVAC engineers use extra long cable ties to secure duct work and they have a use in the transport industry for securing heavy loads.
