The beauty of cable ties, and their advantage in many situations and industries, is the speed at which they can be installed and applied. Add to this their tensile strength (see our blog for more information on this) and it’s easy to see why you can be confident in their reliability.
But not all cable ties are born equal and there are some situations where only the heaviest duty ties will do!
Stainless steel cable ties
In certain extreme industries such as chemical plants and mining, stainless steel cable ties are the best solution. Any situation that might involve vibration, corrosion, weather extremes and even radiation, will require a heavy-duty stainless-steel cable tie.
Our stainless-steel cable ties are manufactured from 316 stainless steel and are recommended for extreme weight bearing. The narrower of our two options is 4.6mm wide with a minimum tensile strength of 89 kg (196 lbs.), while the wider tie is 7.9mm wide with a minimum tensile strength of 160 kg (352 lbs.). This high tensile strength makes our stainless-steel cable ties ideal for bundling or suspending heavy weights and are available in lengths up to 1000 mm.
Suited to outdoor conditions, our stainless-steel cable ties feature a roller ball construction. This tightens and secures the tie as it is being tensioned, to provide a non-releasable locking mechanism.
Coated stainless steel cable ties
Offering the same high tensile strength of our stainless-steel cable ties, our coated stainless steel cable ties are available with a PVC or epoxy-resin coating which will safeguard surfaces against scratches and damage. The use of coated stainless steel cable ties is recommended for any situation where a metal cable tie may come into contact and cause a reaction with galvanised steel.
Coated stainless steel cable ties offer a resistance to water, salt and chemicals, making them the perfect long-term solution for harsh environments such as marine applications, aerospace and off-shore works.
Nylon 6/6 cable ties
Nylon cables ties are supplied in a variety of widths, lengths and colours. Our widest nylon cable tie is 12.7 mm and is available in lengths up to 1530mm. Offering a tensile strength of 114 kg (251 lbs.), the nylon cable ties are a heavy-duty option suitable for heavy packaging and large objects.
UV and heat stabilised cable ties
Offered in a shorter length than the nylon 6/6 cable tie, our UV and heat stabilised option offers the same tensile strength, with the advantage of UV resistance. Their ability to withstand heat makes them a great solution for environments such as boiler rooms and for securing heavy, heat conductive cables.
